Motor sport is under pressure to become more climate-friendly. Researchers at the University of Warwick have built the world’s first Formula 3 car with renewable materials. “We put a diesel engine[柴油机] into the car which allows us to run all sorts of bio-diesels,” explains Dr. James Meredith, “from used vegetable oil to waste cocoa butter.”
It also has carrot fibers in its steering wheel[方向盘], potato starch[淀粉] in its wing mirror shells, and cashew[腰果] shells in its brake pads. Just tasty!
